Background
Anthony Dugarte, M.D., C.S.C.S. Cis a health and wellness writer and medical content reviewer. In addition to dedicating the last 8 years to medical research, Dr. Dugarte also has more than a decade of experience in strength and conditioning, nutrition, and rehabilitative exercise, as well as authoring and reviewing health and wellness-related content.
He has enjoyed success in both collegiate sports, as well as academics. Dr. Dugarte accepted a full athletic scholarship to attend Kent State University and graduated, Cum Laude, with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology. While at Kent, he was a member of the Golden Flash Football Team and earned Academic All-American Honors as a defensive lineman.
Dr. Dugarte spent the next two years working as an exercise physiologist and earned his CSCS license prior to pursuing a career in medicine.
He realized his passion for medical research while training at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Upon graduation, he chose to further develop this passion by accepting a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at the University of Minnesota and Regions Hospital. During this time, he garnered invaluable experience in virtually every aspect of the research process.
His research training allowed for yet another way for Dr. Dugarte to continue to remain engaged in the health and wellness community. He has collaborated with over a dozen vendors to both author and review medical content pertaining to a variety of health-related topics.
Moving forward, Dr. Dugarte continues to apply his passions for research and wellness as a member of WellnessVerge’s Review Board.
In his free time, Dr. Dugarte enjoys traveling with his wife, cooking, functional exercise, live music, and restoring vintage sneakers.
